Looks Like a Normal Wall. Works Like a Magnetic Board.

ZETA Magnetic Plaster goes on as a dark grey layer, is sanded smooth, then painted in the colour you choose. Once finished, it looks like any painted wall, but notices, plans, photos and decorations stay up with magnets.

The problem

Pinboards and Framed Boards Limit Your Walls

Pinboards, notice boards and framed magnetic boards look bulky and limit usable wall space. Pins, nails, tape and Blu Tack mark the paint. Project teams, schools and homes need larger, cleaner and more flexible display surfaces.

About 95% metal content

A much stronger hold than typical magnetic paint, with strength tuned by thickness.

Hidden in the wall

No frames or metal panels. The wall still looks like a normal painted wall.

Your chosen colour

Finished with quality interior paint in almost any colour.

Add a whiteboard

Top with ZETA Whiteboard Paint for a magnetic dry-erase wall.

Any shape or size

Full walls, half walls, circles, maps, curves and logo shapes.

Safe for homes & schools

Water-based, low odour, VOC-free and non-toxic after curing.

Magnetic wall options

Choose the Right Magnetic Wall System

The right system depends on whether you want to display, write, or both, and what the wall needs to hold. We'll recommend the best option after a site check.

No Nails. No Drilling. Just Magnets.

On a ZETA Magnetic Plaster wall at home, a light display shelf goes up with magnets in seconds, then gets a plant. Move it whenever you like, with no holes and no marks from nails or tape.

  • Photos, artwork, posters and children's work
  • Plans, schedules and project boards
  • Light display items with magnetic hooks or holders

Magnetic walls are for paper and lightweight items, not heavy shelves, cabinets or TVs.

Important to know

Holding Strength Is Planned, Not Guessed

Magnetic strength depends on the plaster thickness, the topcoat layers and the magnets you use. Before we quote, we check:

  • What you want to hold, and how heavy it is
  • The wall type and its condition (render, concrete, drywall or painted wall)
  • Magnetic-only, magnetic whiteboard or magnetic chalkboard finish
  • Your chosen colour and number of topcoats
  • Drying and curing time in your project schedule

We test the holding strength before the topcoat goes on, so more plaster can be added if you need a stronger hold.

Magnetic wall FAQ

Magnetic Wall Questions, Answered

Can a normal wall become magnetic?

Yes. ZETA Magnetic Plaster contains about 95% metal powder. Applied onto a suitable wall and finished with paint, it lets magnets stick to the wall while it still looks like a normal painted wall.

Is the plaster itself a magnet?

No. It doesn't create a magnetic field. It contains a high concentration of iron particles, so magnets are attracted to the wall.

Can a magnetic wall also be a whiteboard?

Yes. Finish the magnetic plaster with ZETA Whiteboard Paint and the wall becomes magnetic and dry-erase in one, one of our most popular combinations for offices, schools and meeting rooms.

How strong is the magnetic holding force?

It depends on the thickness of plaster applied, the topcoat layers, the magnet you use and what you're holding. More plaster per square metre gives a stronger hold. We test the holding strength before the topcoat goes on, so extra plaster can be added if you need more. Visit our showroom to test it yourself.

What kind of magnets should be used?

Quality neodymium (rare-earth) magnets give the best hold. Cheap decorative magnets are usually much weaker. For bigger items, larger or several magnets spread the load.

Will magnets mark the wall?

On light-coloured walls, sliding magnets across the surface can leave dark marks. Lift magnets off instead of sliding them, or ask us about a suitable topcoat for heavy daily use.

Can it be painted in any colour?

Yes. The magnetic layer is hidden under your chosen paint finish, so almost any wall colour is possible. Each topcoat layer slightly reduces holding strength, which we plan for.

What can it hold?

Paper, photos, drawings, plans, posters, notices and lightweight display items. It isn't designed for heavy shelves, cabinets, TVs or structural loads.

What surfaces can it be applied to?

Cement render, concrete, plasterboard, drywall and properly prepared painted walls. It isn't applied directly onto glass, tiles, metal, plastic or other shiny, non-absorbent surfaces.

Is magnetic plaster better than magnetic paint?

With about 95% metal content, magnetic plaster gives a much stronger hold than typical magnetic paints, and the strength can be tuned by adjusting the thickness.

Is it safe for schools and homes?

Yes. ZETA Magnetic Plaster is water-based, low odour, VOC-free and non-toxic after curing.

How long does installation take?

The plaster needs at least 24 hours to dry before sanding and topcoats, and whiteboard paint needs time to cure before writing. We confirm the timeline after the site assessment and plan the work to keep disruption low.
