From Plain Wall to Teaching Wall

A full classroom wall turned into a writable, magnet-friendly surface with semi-matte magnetic whiteboard film: room to teach, plan and pin up work, with less glare than a glossy board.

The problem

Small, Stained Boards Hold Teams Back

Many meeting rooms, classrooms and training spaces rely on small, stained or outdated whiteboards. Replacing boards is bulky, costly and disruptive. Whiteboard film is a cleaner, more flexible way to refresh or expand your writable space, without bulky frames.

Smooth dry-erase writing

A clean writing surface for markers, applied onto suitable walls, glass, doors and panels.

No bulky frames

A built-in, space-saving look that blends into the room instead of hanging on it.

Refresh old boards

Resurface worn or stained whiteboards instead of replacing the whole board.

Magnetic options

Write and pin up notices, plans and student work with suitable magnets.

Projection-friendly options

Selected matte and semi-matte films reduce glare for projectors.

Custom sizes & shapes

Arches, circles, feature panels, curved walls and round pillars.

Choose the Right Whiteboard Film for Your Space

The right film depends on whether you need writing only, magnetic function, projection or chalk. We'll recommend the best option after looking at your surface and how the room is used.

Surface Condition Decides the Result

Whiteboard film is a surface finish, not a wall repair material. Before we quote, we check:

  • The surface is smooth, clean, dry and stable
  • No loose or peeling paint, cracks, dents, nail heads or damp
  • Whether you need writing only, magnetic, projection or chalk
  • Wall length versus roll width, so joints are planned in advance
  • Site access, working hours and how the room is used

Whiteboard film FAQ

Whiteboard Film Questions, Answered

Can whiteboard film be used on old whiteboards?

Yes, if the existing board is smooth, stable and suitable for adhesion. Wryte film gives worn or stained boards a new writing surface without replacing the whole board structure.

Can it be applied on glass?

Yes. Selected Wryte films are made for glass, such as meeting room glass, office fronts and writable glass panels. We choose the film based on whether you need writing only, magnetic function or projection.

Is whiteboard film better than whiteboard paint?

It depends on the space. Film is quick to install, comes in glossy, semi-matte, magnetic and projectable options, and suits glass, doors and old boards. ZETA Whiteboard Paint suits large walls where you want your own wall colour to show through. We'll recommend the better fit after looking at your surface.

Can it be magnetic?

Yes. Magnetic Wryte films let you write and hold suitable magnets, in glossy or semi-matte finishes. Holding strength depends on the film type, magnet quality and size, and the weight of what you're holding.

Can it be used for projection?

Yes, with selected matte or semi-matte films. Glossy film gives the best marker contrast and easiest erasing, but can cause glare under a projector, so matte or semi-matte is better where you need both writing and projection.

Can it cover a curved wall or pillar?

Yes. Our installation team has turned curved walls and round pillars into writing surfaces, subject to the surface condition and the film selected.

Will there be joint lines on a long wall?

Our in-house TWJ team specialises in large-format installation with minimal or no visible joints where dimensions and material permit. Where a wall is larger than the film roll, we plan joint placement in advance for the best appearance.

What surfaces are not suitable?

Surfaces with loose or peeling paint, dust, cracks, dents, nail heads, rough texture or moisture problems. Film is a surface finish, not a wall repair material, so defects are repaired before installation.

Do you offer chalkboard film?

Yes. Wryte chalkboard film comes in classic black or old-school dark green. Use standard chalk where possible; if you use liquid chalk, choose a water-based type and test it at a corner first.

Which markers should we use?

Good-quality whiteboard markers such as Pilot V Board Master or equivalent. Avoid permanent markers, ballpoint pens, pencils, paint or oil-based markers and sharp or abrasive objects. Erase writing regularly and don't leave ink on for more than 30 days.

How do we clean and maintain it?

Wipe with a clean foam duster or microfibre cloth after use, and give it a damp-cloth wipe about every two weeks. For stubborn marks use warm, mild soapy water or a whiteboard cleaner, then wipe with a damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, strong solvents and rough pads. We give you a care guide at handover.

How long does installation take?

It depends on the area, the surface preparation needed and site access. We confirm the timeline after the site assessment and plan the work to keep disruption to your space low.
